Cathedral Square, locally known as The Square, is both the geographical and metaphorical heart of the city of Christchurch.

The Square is surrounded by heritage-listed buildings, such as Christchurch Cathedral, and is the main meeting place for locals and a regular site of street performers and speakers, making it a fitting home for the main hub of BREAD & CIRCUS – World Buskers Festival.
